Google officially launched one of the latest devices to run on Android 4.2 called the Nexus 4 with some pretty top-end specs. The long leaked Nexus 4 smartphone marks the first Nexus device developed with LG. “This is the first time we collaborated with LG to build a Nexus device,” Andy Rubin, who works for Google, said in a statement. “They brought an extraordinary amount of talent to the project, and the result is a feature-packed device that feels great in your hand and blazingly fast under the hood.” The Nexus 4, an altered version of LG's flagship Optimus G smartphone, features a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display (1,280 x 768). It also has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Moreover, the LG-made smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel main camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. In addition to the improved screen, camera and faster CPU, the Google Nexus 4 has a 2,100 mAh battery good for up to 15.3hrs talktime or 390hrs standby.
The Nexus 4, the first Nexus device is built by LG, is officially released by Google. The phone features wireless charging capabilities and an NFC connection for Google Wallet payments.
The back of the LG-made smartphone is made of the etched, layered glass which sparkles with a strange depth. The Nexus 4 also comes with 2GB of RAM and the latest rendition of Google Now along with turn-by-turn navigation via Google Maps.
The Google Nexus 4, which has a nice design, includes NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and built-in compatibility with the Wireless Charging Orb. However, there’s no LTE support.
The handset is set to go on sale in the Google Play store in the U.S., France, U.K., Spain, Canada, Germany and Australia on November 13, 2012.
The latest phone in Google’s Nexus line of flagship Android devices comes in at the low price of $299 for the 8GB version and $349 for the 16GB option.
