Using Google Authorship to build trust with your readers
How is this going to benefit you?
- It makes your articles stand out – having your profile picture appear next to the search result makes it more attractive in a sea of blue and green links and adds a personal touch.
- It helps you build your Author Rank with Google. With Author Rank, Google wants to make it easier for users to discover your content on the web. If you are consistently producing quality content, your author rank is going to increase, and therefore your articles can appear higher up the results.
- You can generate more Google+ connections within your Circles.
Link every content you publish on EzineMark to your Google+ profile
So, do you want to display your Google+ profile picture next to the links of your EzineMark articles in search results?
It can be done in 3 simple steps:
1. Create a Google+ Profile
Remember to upload a good, recognizable headshot and fill out some profile information such as interests, etc.
2. Link to your EzineMark content from your Google+ profile
On your Google+ Profile page:
- Click Edit Profile
- Click the Contributor To section, and then click Add custom link
- Add your EzineMark profile URL, similar to http://ezinemark.com/u/your-author-name/3XXXXXXX/. You can find your EzineMark Profile URL on your EzineMark Profile Page -> View Your Public Profile
- Save and click "Done Editing" at the top.
- You will need to copy your Google+ ID number – it will look similar to https://plus.google.com/104974195507815849361/posts
- If your author application has not yet been approved, paste only the number into the Google+ ID field in your Author Application and click on Submit.
- If you are already an EzineMark author, go to Edit Profile and paste the number into the Google+ ID field.
